With a playoff game on the line, the Calhoun Tigers rose to the challenge on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 60-45 win over the Tornadoes. The victory was familiar territory for Calhoun who now have four in a row.
Calhoun's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Robertson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Kentavius Loftin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Calhoun pushed their record up to 18-6 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Pickens County, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Calhoun will square off against Keith at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Keith's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 21 matchups. Pickens County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
