The Providence School Stallions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 59-48 to Sagemont. While losing is never fun, Providence School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Sagemont is ranked 63rd).
Several Stallions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brady Patterson, who scored 14 points. Chris Arias was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
It was another big night for Patrick Liburd, who scored 19 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals for Sagemont. That makes it two consecutive games in which Liburd has scored at least 25% of Sagemont's points. Another player making a difference was Kenneth Lopez, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds.
Providence School has fallen quite a ways from their 28-3 record last season and are now at 1-3. As for Sagemont, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Providence School's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mater Lakes Academy at 6:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Mater Lakes Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Sagemont, they will face off against Bishop Snyder at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop Snyder is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
