The Canisius Crusaders had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.4 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Francis 74-41 at home. Canisius has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 24 points or more this season.
Patrick Cullinan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Enright, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the defeat, St. Francis had strong showings from John Meka, jr., who scored ten points, and Tj Askew, who scored six points along with two steals.
Canisius pushed their record up to 16-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for St. Francis, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canisius will take on Cardinal O'Hara at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cardinal O'Hara's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. As for St. Francis, they will be playing at home against Nichols at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Francis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
