The Waco Lions will square off against the Taylor Ducks at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Waco is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
On Tuesday, Waco suffered a rough 62-37 defeat at the hands of Midway. Waco was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.
Meanwhile, Taylor's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 69-43 walloping at the hands of Burnet. Taylor has struggled against Burnet recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Taylor had strong showings from Treos Richardson, who scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds, and Harrison Tate, who scored 10 points. The contest was Richardson's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Waco bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Taylor, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Waco was able to grind out a solid win over Taylor in their previous meeting back in December of 2015, winning 80-70. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Taylor's B.J. Tealer, who scored 22 points along with 6 steals. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Waco to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
