Brownsburg gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers by a score of 36-23. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row dating back to last season.
A big part of Brownsburg's victory came down to the chemistry between Oscar Frye and his top target Branden Sharpe. Frye threw for 252 yards and two TDs on only 19 passes while Sharpe picked up 157 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Sharpe really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 74 yards. Shakovon Sumpterbey helped Frye out on the ground, rushing for 81 yards and one score.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brownsburg will welcome Cathedral at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Archbishop Spalding, they will host Archbishop Hoban at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th.
