After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lordsburg, Mesilla Valley Christian School was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Mescalero Apache Chiefs get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory. Considering the SonBlazers have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Maren Fiske made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Fiske was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Stailey Faust was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Jacie Caldwell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
