Artesia has gone a perfect 10-0 against Portales recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will host the Rams at 5:00 p.m. Portales took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Artesia, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Artesia needed a bit of extra time to put away Lovington. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since March 21st.

04/15/25 @ Goddard | 2 |

Kayden Apodaca spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kinsley Rodriguez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Brooklyn Fuentes also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Portales was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 4-1 to Goddard.
Portales also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Amaya Lujan gave up three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.
On the hitting side, Portales saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annaleah Lujan, who went 2-for-4 with one double.
Artesia has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Portales, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Artesia hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Portales struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Artesia took their win against Portales in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
