After both having extra time off, the Legacy Lightning and the Arvada West Wildcats will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Legacy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup two weeks ago with ease, bagging a 62-21 win over Mountain Range. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lightning as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

It was another big night for Olivia Mortensen, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. The game was her 18th in a row with at least ten points. Riley Reichenberg was another key player, going 7 for 8 on her way to 15 points.
Legacy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Range only racked up two assists.
Meanwhile, Arvada West entered their tilt with Brighton last Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 66-17. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 51.6 points per game.
Arvada West's win came from a few key players Legacy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Macie Ferguson, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 15 points and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Harrison, who posted eight points.
Arvada West's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Legacy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Legacy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Arvada West struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Legacy lost to Arvada West on the road by a decisive 48-29 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Legacy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
