Softball Recap: Hale County Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Hale County had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sipsey Valley Bears, sneaking past 8-6. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won four in a row.

Hale County let Shyann Kearley and Stormie Averette loose on the outfield. Kearley went 1-for-4 with four RBI, while Averette scored three runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Sipsey Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hale County will head out to take on Bibb County at 5:00 p.m. on February 25th. As for Sipsey Valley, they will venture away from home to face off against Holy Spirit Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
