While Sparta didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Hurley Tigers by a score of 13-8 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Ben Miller was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Austin Humble also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

Sparta's record is now 4-1. As for Hurley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sparta will challenge Gainesville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hurley, they will square off against Galena at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
