West Washington is 1-9 against Eastern since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The West Washington Senators will head out on the road to face off against the Eastern Musketeers at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully West Washington is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastern in Indiana (West Washington is ranked 139th, while Eastern is ranked 338th).
West Washington had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 43-32 victory over Perry Central.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayla Batt, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Meredith Deaton was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Eastern can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They managed a 38-33 win over Mitchell. The win was just what Eastern needed coming off of a 45-22 defeat in their prior game.
West Washington's win lifted them to 7-2 while Perry Central's defeat dropped them down to 3-6.
West Washington was dealt a bruising 48-21 defeat at the hands of Eastern when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can West Washington avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
