The Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves will take on the Westminster Academy Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oxbridge Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Oxbridge Academy nor Cardinal Newman made it on the board until the sixth inning. The ThunderWolves came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 6-2. The win was familiar territory for the ThunderWolves, who have now won three games in a row.

Aubrey Vital made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Oxbridge Academy let Riley Fraunfelter and Kaiya Glucksman run wild. Fraunfelter went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Glucksman went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Ella Bianco was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Oxbridge Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Westminster Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Stoneman Douglas 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since March 6th.

Oxbridge Academy's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Westminster Academy, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Oxbridge Academy beat Westminster Academy 5-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2017. Will the ThunderWolves repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
