The McMichael Phoenix will head out on the road to take on the Rockingham County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. McMichael will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
If McMichael beats Rockingham County with 24 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Phoenix put the hurt on Reidsville with a sharp 24-6 win on Friday. The Phoenix might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Southeast Alamance hit Rockingham County with a ten-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars came up short against the Stallions, falling 11-1. The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. McMichael has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rockingham County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
McMichael suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Rockingham County in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Phoenix avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
