The Mountain View Vikings lost against the El Monte Lions back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Mountain View took a hard 34-20 fall against El Monte. Mountain View has struggled against El Monte recently, as their contest on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Mountain View still got an impressive performance from Everardo Nunez, who rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
El Monte was led to victory by Alex Aleman and Noah Munoz. Aleman threw for 183 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, while Munoz picked up 140 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was David Ibarra, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Mountain View has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for El Monte, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.
Mountain View will take on South El Monte at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. South El Monte knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Mountain View likes a good challenge. As for El Monte, they will head out on the road to face off against Gabrielino at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Gabrielino is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
