The San Diego Cavers will head out on the road to face off against the Hoover Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Diego will be strutting in after a victory while Hoover will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, San Diego kept a clean sheet against Kearny. They blew past the Komets 4-0. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory San Diego has managed all season.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Garen Mvongo and
Casey Kotcher-Smit, who scored all four of San Diego's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 13 so far this season.
Meanwhile, after a 6-3 finish the last time they played, Hoover and Scripps Ranch decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Hoover fell 2-0 to Scripps Ranch on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, Hoover couldn't push the score so high this time.
The victory makes it two in a row for San Diego and bumps their season record up to 11-2-3. As for Hoover, they dropped their record down to 12-11-2 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
San Diego skirted past Hoover 2-1 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Diego since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
