The Curlew Cougars will be playing at home against the Pateros Billygoats/Nannies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Curlew is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Curlew suffered their biggest loss since December 30, 2023 on Saturday. They suffered a tough 75-49 defeat at the hands of Inchelium. Curlew has struggled against Inchelium recently, as their game on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Logan Thompson, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Evan Olson, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Pateros can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 50-43 victory over Cascade Christian Academy. The win was just what Pateros needed coming off of a 55-34 defeat in their prior game.
Curlew has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Pateros, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.
Curlew took their victory against Pateros in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 58-32. Will Curlew repeat their success, or does Pateros have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
