4A Region IV District 26 recap October 22, 2013
McCallum scaled the state rankings by moving to 303 from 428 this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region IV District 26. The Knights were able to move up by beating Travis 62-34.
Reagan took down Lanier 43-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Rebels' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jonathon Caldwell threw for 403 and 3 touchdowns and Keiman Reynolds had 145 yards receiving. On the ground Eric Strait contributed 91 yards. Johnny Williams helped Travis' passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 133 yards.
He was 26-52 with 1 interception.
Reynolds was the best wideout in the league this week as Travis lost to McCallum. Reynolds tallied 10 receptions for 145 yards. Williams helped Travis' passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 133 yards.
Travis' offense cannot be tamed this season and the Rebels feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Caldwell has thrown for 1,946 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while Williams has 35 catches for 601 yards.
Armando Jacinto's team's Caldwell is within 54 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against the Raiders.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Jason Cecil's team takes on LBJ Austin. At the moment, the Knights are in second, while the Jaguars are in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when McCallum takes on LBJ Austin. The Knights have allowed 161 points this season, while Andrew Jackson's team has given up 140. McCallum allowed 34 points last week as it topped the Rebels.
There should be lots of points scored when Travis and Reagan face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Rebels comes in having scored 337 this season, while the Raiders have scored 14. Travis scored 34 points last week as it lost to the Knights.
McCallum led 4A Region IV District 26 in scoring this week by notching 62 points on the Rebels.
