River Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Highland 100-48 at home. River Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead River Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Smith, who scored 33 points along with four steals. Smith hasn't dropped below 18 points for three straight games. Chase Smith was another key contributor, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 8 assists.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Galion at home against Bucyrus on Tuesday as the squad secured a 70-35 win. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Galion has managed all season.
River Valley's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.7 points per game. As for Galion, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for River Valley against Galion in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 82-47 victory. With River Valley ahead 44-24 at the half, the match was all but over already.
