Reed Yates turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than three walks surrendered on Wednesday. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against Carroll Academy back in April of 2024, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock.

Yates' strong effort led Winston Academy over Carroll Academy and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
