Smidt Tech found their leader in underclassman Aaron Merlos, who scored 33 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Merlos has scored all season. Nathan Lopez was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Animo De La Hoya's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Smidt Tech, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Animo De La Hoya couldn't quite finish off Smidt Tech when the teams last played back in November of 2023 and fell 56-53.
