While losing is never fun, St. Stephen's & St. Agnes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 39th in Virginia, while Georgetown Prep is ranked fourth in Maryland).
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Riley Jacobs, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, and Kyan Bowman who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Jacobs hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 11 straight games.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes' defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Georgetown Prep, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Albans at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. St. Albans has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 790 points over their last ten matches. As for Georgetown Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge Episcopal at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Episcopal is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
