A Season-Best Effort from Brayden Lawson Leads Marmaton Valley over St. Paul
Marmaton Valley was led to victory by Brayden Lawson, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Lawson rushed for 156 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 255 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 2.1 rushing touchdowns per game. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
Unfortunately for St. Paul, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Lawson. Lawson threw for 346 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Indians duked it out back in October of 2023.

Kade Nilges posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 154 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making six total tackles.
For the year, Nilges has thrown 4 touchdowns while averaging 32.9 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he had three rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to five.

Gentry McGhee posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 51 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He has become a key player for Crest: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Josh Hutchinson put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in September on Friday. He rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.
Sedan had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Hutchinson it was a similar story. When Hutchinson last faced the Devils back in September of 2023, he rushed for 211 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per carry.
