The Cupertino Pioneers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Saratoga Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Cupertino is coming into the match hot, having won their last 13 games.
Last Friday, Cupertino didn't have too much trouble with Lynbrook on the road as they won 43-27. Given Cupertino's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Lynbrook is ranked 641st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cupertino's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Soham Nighojkar led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Max Feldan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Saratoga ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They secured a 53-47 W over Monta Vista.
Cupertino's win was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-1. As for Saratoga, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season.
Cupertino skirted past Saratoga 40-37 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Cupertino repeat their success, or does Saratoga have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
