Castlewood's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Natalie Akin, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists, and Presley Knecht, who scored 16 points along with three steals and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Knecht posted two or more blocks.
In what's become a running theme this season, Florence/Henry gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah], posting a 57-21 win at home. Given Florence/Henry's advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Tigers are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Castlewood is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Florence/Henry, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
