Baseball Recap: Escambia Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Escambia won the last time they faced Pensacola and things went their way on Tuesday too. Escambia's pitcher stepped up to hand Pensacola a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Gators, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Colin Hanks was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Sanders, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Hanks wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Escambia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Escambia's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-5. As for Pensacola, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Escambia didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-1 win against Northview on the 25th. As for Pensacola, they will take on Navarre at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pensacola is facing Navarre at the right time seeing as Navarre is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
