After three games on the road, Reading is heading back home. They will take on the Maple Valley Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
While Reading couldn't quite beat Union City on Thursday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 46-point loss they were dealt last Thursday. Reading fell just short of Union City by a score of 39-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Reading has suffered since December 8, 2023.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brayden Wright, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brady Kling, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Maple Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 45-34 to Quincy. Maple Valley has not had much luck with Quincy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Reading's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Maple Valley, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-6.
