Potter-Dix extended the longest winning streak in D2 District 10 (8 Man) this week by beating South Platte, 53-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Potter-Dix took down the Blue Knights 53-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Luke Johnson threw for 240 yards and six touchdowns in the win.
Brady Knigge was the best wideout in the league this week as Joe Martin/Dale Frerichs' team beat South Platte. Knigge racked up four receptions for 85 yards. Bryant Knigge helped Potter-Dix's passing attack out by catching two balls for 70 yards.
Sam Schumacher was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 138 yards as Leyton bested John York's team. Teammate Jared Westman added to the ground attack by rushing for 80 yards.
Potter-Dix's Johnson and Knigge have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading D2 District 10 (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 1683 yards this season, while Knigge, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 32 catches for 668 yards. Schumacher from the Warriors leads the league in rushing with 689 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Potter-Dix takes on second place Leyton. Last week, the Coyotes defeated the Blue Knights, while Leyton bested Crawford.
There should be lots of points scored when Potter-Dix and Glen Lipska's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Coyotes comes in having scored 317 this season, while the Warriors have scored 332. Potter-Dix scored 53 points last week as it beat South Platte.
