Sophie Cygnarowicz made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Cardinal Gibbons let Bridget Mazzo and Becca Jordan run wild. Mazzo got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Jordan went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Talia Marinaro, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
