In what's become a running theme this season, the Century Centurions gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Shawnee 59-21 at home. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Century had established a 33 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Century to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karleigh Jones, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Linsey Miller was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Shawnee saw an underclassman step up: Emma Young dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Century is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Shawnee, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Century will challenge Johnston City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Century is coming into the matchup with five straight wins on the road, meaning Johnston City will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Shawnee, they will square off against Cairo at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
