The Delta Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Edon Bombers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Delta will be strutting in after a win while Edon will be coming in after a defeat.
Delta not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11, 2025 (when they won 14-0). They blew past Stryker 14-2. Delta's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Carlos DeSantos made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. DeSantos was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Lane Lopez looked comfortable as he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Back at the plate, Jack Tedrick was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Gary Valentine, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Delta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stryker only posted an OBP of .375.
Meanwhile, Edon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Holgate. That's two games in a row now that the Bombers have lost by exactly two runs.
Corbin Chrisman was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadin Stantz, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Delta's record now sits at 3-1. As for Edon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Delta was able to grind out a solid victory over Edon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
