Basketball Recap: Chillicothe Skates Past Macon with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Chillicothe's strategy against Macon on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Chillicothe Hornets blew the Macon Tigers out of the water with a 63-35 final score. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Tigers are ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Jaishon White, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Kenyen Gannan was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Chillicothe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Chillicothe's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Macon, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Chillicothe will welcome Centralia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Macon, they are taking a road trip to square off against Savannah at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
