The Foxcroft Academy Ponies will head out on the road to face off against the Hermon Hawks at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maine (Foxcroft Academy is ranked 43rd, while Hermon is ranked 25th).
Last Tuesday, Foxcroft Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-47 to Dexter.
Even though Hermon has not done well against Ellsworth recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Hermon snuck past Ellsworth with a 53-47 victory.
Foxcroft Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Hermon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Foxcroft Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Hermon in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Foxcroft Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
