The Basic Wolves struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Sunny Hills Lancers had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Basic took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sunny Hills.
Despite the loss, Basic saw an underclassman step up: Kenny Williams scored 12 points. Williams has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Christian Baltierrez was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Sunny Hills got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ze Brien Watkins out in front who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Sanchez, who scored nine points along with six assists.
Basic now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Sunny Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Basic will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Cheyenne at 2:30 p.m. on December 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Cheyenne is ranked 77th, while Basic is ranked 72nd). Sunny Hills won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Centennial at 2:30 p.m. on December 27th.
