After flying high against the Valley View Tigers last Friday, the McAllen Bulldogs came back down to earth. McAllen fell just short of Rowe by a score of 41-38. McAllen has struggled against Rowe recently, as their match on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
McAllen lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lola Mallard, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dariana Luna, who scored three points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
McAllen's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Rowe, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-9.
McAllen will head out on the road to face off against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rowe, they will be playing at home against Pioneer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pioneer is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
