The Soledad Aztecs had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came out on top against North Salinas by a score of 62-49. Soledad pushed the score to 51-28 by the end of the third, a deficit North Salinas cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Pablo Morales iv, who went 9 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 0 assists. Another player making a difference was Pedro Morales Jr, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Despite the loss, North Salinas still got an impressive performance from Shane Taylor, who scored 11 points along with five steals. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Angel Lizaola was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Soledad's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for North Salinas, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Soledad will be playing at home against Gonzales at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Salinas, they will head out on the road to take on Pajaro Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
