Basketball Game Preview: Murray Spartans vs. Park City Miners

Murray is 8-1 against Park City since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Murray Spartans will venture away from home to challenge the Park City Miners at 5:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Murray has three straight wins, Park City has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Murray didn't have too much trouble with Tooele as they won 73-54.

Damani Wilkerson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10 of 14 on his way to 31 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Beh, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points along with seven assists and six boards.

Murray smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Park City was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 77-72 to Stansbury. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (64), the Miners still had to take the loss.

Murray pushed their record up to 8-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Park City, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Murray took their win against Park City in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 79-53. Will Murray repeat their success, or does Park City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
