Silverado is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Miller 13-2. The victory was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on four straight.
Valerie Beltran was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Alex Valdez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.
Silverado was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 12 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Rialto's hitters rose to the challenge against a Falcons pitching crew that boasted an average of only four runs allowed on Thursday. The Knights were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over Santa Ana Valley. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.
Rylee Estrada made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Estrada was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with seven RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Rialto got a massive performance out of Johanna Zamano, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and one double. Those two triples gave Zamano a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Delilah Munoz, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Rialto's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-15. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Silverado, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Silverado hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .391. However, it's not like Rialto struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
