Shades Valley has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Huffman Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Shades Valley will be strutting in after a win while Huffman will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Monday, Shades Valley had just enough and edged Center Point out 44-41. Given Shades Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Center Point is ranked 354th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shades Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremiah Williams out in front who scored nine points along with three steals. Williams hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Rashad Bryant, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Huffman's 23-11 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paul W. Bryant on Wednesday. Huffman has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Shades Valley pushed their record up to 7-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Huffman, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
