Oologah is a perfect 10-0 against Miami since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mustangs will welcome the Wardogs at 5:00 p.m. Oologah will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Oologah barely beat Pryor the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Tigers on Friday. That looming 9-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.
Kaden Fisher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jett Griswold, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Carson Robertson, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Miami had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Inola 2-1.
Miami also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Grant Blundell gave up a run (which was unearned) on two hits. Blundell also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Wardogs are 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Sam Lillard was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Oologah's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Miami, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Oologah took their victory against Miami when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wardogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
