The Vero Beach Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Heritage Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
After only ten points in their last match, Vero Beach made sure to put some points up on the board against Columbia on Friday. Vero Beach blew past Columbia 31-10.
Vero Beach can attribute much of their success to Octavion Osby, who rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns. Isaiah Roberts also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Heritage had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 47-7 win over Bayside. Given Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Bayside is ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Vero Beach has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Heritage, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
