Bay Valley recap September 10, 2013
Liberty moved up to 292 from 355 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Bay Valley. The Lions were able to make move up by besting West 48-7.
Deer Valley was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to second in the league. The Wolverines defeated Rodriguez 49-7 earlier in the week.
Antioch's dynamic duo of Isaac Lewis and Ryan Payne proved tough for Granada to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lewis threw for 264 yards and 2 touchdowns and Payne had 106 yards receiving. Kenneth Wilson helped Antioch's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 81 yards.
The Panthers' dynamic duo of Lewis and Payne proved to be unstoppable against the Matadors, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Lewis put up the best numbers in passing as Antioch lost to Granada.
He went 14-36 with 1 interceptions.
Harris Ross was a force in the backfield as Pittsburg bested California.
Ross was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 233 yards on 30 carries as the Pirates fell to the Matadors. DeVonte Tarrance also contributed to the rushing game with 115 yards on the ground.
Payne was the best wideout in Bay Valley this week as the Panthers fell to Granada.
Antioch's Lewis and Payne have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Lewis has thrown for 404 yards this season, while Payne has 8 catches for 146 yards. Pittsburg's Ross leads the league in rushing yards with 314.
Victor Galli's team and the Grizzlies played the closest game in the league this week, with Victor Galli's team eventually emerging with a 35-33 victory. Ross during the win.
