The Southern Aroostook Warriors are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on the Katahdin Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
Things were looking good for Southern Aroostook after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wisdom.

Isaiah Foster made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Southern Aroostook's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Kuindersma, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Katahdin strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Madawaska as they made off with an 11-2 victory. Considering the Cougars have won four games by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Calvin Richardson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Conor Schmidt was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Matthew Keim also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Katahdin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.
Katahdin's record now sits at 5-0. As for Southern Aroostook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Southern Aroostook has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Katahdin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Southern Aroostook suffered a grim 20-9 defeat to Katahdin in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
