If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Fayetteville. On Friday they take on Van Buren at 7:00 PM. Fayetteville will be strutting in after a victory while Van Buren will be stumbling in from a loss.
Fayetteville made easy work of Rogers last Friday and carried off a 52-28 win. Junior Hank Gibbs, who passed for 422 yards and 6 touchdowns, was a major factor in Fayetteville's success.
Meanwhile, Van Buren came into their this week averaging 32.75 points per game, but Van Buren fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They were completely outmatched, falling 0-44 to Bentonville. Van Buren were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-23.
Fayetteville simply couldn't be stopped the last time the two teams met, as they easily beat Van Buren 55-14. Will Fayetteville repeat their success, or does Van Buren have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
