The Bennett Clippers lost against the Wicomico Indians back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Bennett took a serious blow against Wicomico, falling 60-14. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bennett has scored all season.
Wicomico found their leader in underclassman Se'Lah Foreman, who scored 24 points along with seven steals and five assists. Foreman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Corbin, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Bennett and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Wicomico, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Bennett the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Decatur at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Decatur and Bennett are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Wicomico, they will head out on the road to take on Mardela at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mardela will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Wicomico is ranked 46th).
