The Springfield Yellow Jackets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Northeast as Springfield made off with a 62-37 victory. That looming 62-37 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Springfield yet this season.
Leading Springfield to victory were Shemauria Pope and Rayne Erickson. Pope scored 20 points, while Erickson dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Merritt, who scored five points along with 14 rebounds and two steals.
Northeast lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Qimara Summers, who scored ten points along with six steals. Summers hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Damonei Peterson, who scored 14 points.
Springfield's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. As for Northeast, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
