II Section II recap October 8, 2013
Sahuaro added to the longest winning streak in II Section II this week by beating Desert View, 21-14. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Buena and Cienega played the most contested game in the league this week, with Buena eventually emerging with a 63-60 victory. Rafael Adames threw for 407 yards and 6 touchdowns and ran for 52 yards in the win.
Daniel Bonn was a force in the backfield as Sunnyside defeated Nogales.
Bonn was the best running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 247 yards as the Blue Devils beat the Bobcats. Bobby Rodriguez also contributed to the rushing game with 137 yards on the ground.
Buena's Adames and Deonte Williams have formed a dream team this season, leading II Section II in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Adames has thrown for 1,958 yards this season, while Williams has 38 catches for 778 yards. Bonn from Sunnyside leads the league in rushing with 793 yards.
Going into this week's game against the Jaguars, Ryan Scherling's team's Adames needs 42 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Sahuaro takes on the Apaches. Scott Mckee's team is in first place, while Nogales is in third place.
Glenn Posey's team took down Vince Villanucci's team 36-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bonn ran for 247 yards during the win.
