The Bethany Christian Bruins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 26 points or more this season. They took their contest at home on Saturday with ease, bagging a 50-15 victory over Lakeland Christian Academy. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-3.
Zoe Willems was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten steals. The matchup was her 11th in a row with at least ten points. Leyna Borgmann was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lakeland Christian Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bethany Christian racked up 12 assists.
Bethany Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Lakeland Christian Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Bethany Christian will head out on the road to face off against Argos at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeland Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Victory Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
