Wellington is a perfect 4-0 against Centennial since May of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wolverines will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Wellington's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Centennial's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Wellington came out on top against Dr. Joaquin Garcia on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Wolverines took their matchup against the Bulldogs 7-4. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.
Cameron Vickers looked comfortable as she pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.
At the plate, Catalina Baronci was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Angelina Baronci was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Wellington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Centennial earned a 4-1 win over Master's Academy on Friday.
Makayla Megnauth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Myrna Pratt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tynlee Smith, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI.
The victory got Centennial back to even at 3-3. As for Wellington, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Wellington was able to grind out a solid win over Centennial in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 5-0. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
