Baseball Recap: Crest Wins Going Away Against Oswego

Crest won the last time they faced Oswego and things went their way on Monday too. The Lancers blew past the Indians 24-2. Considering the Lancers have won 11 matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Crest got a massive performance out of Kade Nilges, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Nilges hit this season. Another player making a difference was Henry White, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Crest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Crest and bumps their season record up to 11-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.5 runs over those games. As for Oswego, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crest will square off against Jayhawk Linn at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oswego, they will venture away from home to square off against Northeast at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
