The Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Norwood Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Miami Valley Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
Miami Valley Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak. They took a 44-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bethel-Tate. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Miami Valley Christian Academy in their matchups with Bethel-Tate: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite their loss, Miami Valley Christian Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Casey Heap, who scored ten points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Henry Patterson, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Miami Valley Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Norwood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. Their rough 63-38 loss to Batavia might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Norwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 804th, while Batavia is ranked 321st).
Miami Valley Christian Academy's record is now 8-5. As for Norwood, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-10.
Miami Valley Christian Academy suffered a grim 60-37 defeat to Norwood when the teams last played back in January of 2021. Can Miami Valley Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
